John van den Broek, Operations Manager at Boomkwekerij M. van den Oever, Shares His Experience with Automated Pruning of Container-Grown Plants
John van den Broek is the operations manager at Boomkwekerij M. van den Oever in Veghel, where they cultivate around 150 varieties of four-liter container plants, totaling 240,000 units. Their main location in Son en Breugel houses an additional 240,000 twelve-liter container plants. In the video below, John shares his experience using the DTM Pruning Line for automated pruning of container plants.
Efficient, Uniform, and High-Quality Pruning with the DTM Pruning Line
"We are always looking to optimize processes. You want to make things easier and faster for your staff, which helps reduce labor hours. Since we started pruning our container plants with the DTM Pruning Line, the work has become much more efficient, and the final result is a much neater and more uniform batch of plants."
Boomkwekerij M. van den Oever purchased its first DTM Pruning Line 1.5 years ago to place behind the potting machine. Although the machine is mobile, it was difficult to use it in multiple locations due to scheduling constraints. This led them to quickly invest in a second DTM Pruning Line, soon followed by a side pruner. The machines are also equipped with an extraction system, ensuring that pruning waste is collected directly into a container.
“I would definitely recommend DT Machinery’s pruning lines to fellow growers, simply because they work perfectly and save a significant amount of time.”
